Ryan C. Torrens
Fighting for justice has been the lifelong work of Ryan Torrens’ 15-year professional legal career. As a Tampa native, Ryan owned his own law practice and for over 11 years, focused on representing homeowners experiencing foreclosures. During that time, Ryan fought some of our country’s largest banks in court and won, saving hundreds of clients’ homes in the process. Ryan also has extensive experience of litigating against creditors and debt collectors for abusive and harassing debt collection practices.
Ryan has fought for his clients not only in our state’s trial courts but also before Florida’s Courts of Appeal. In Page v. Bank of America, N.A., 391 So. 3d 542 (Fla. 2d DCA 2024), Ryan won a reversal of an attorney’s fees judgment based on a due process violation.
In Richard v. Asset Management West 15, LLC, 283 So. 3d 1282 (Fla. 2d DCA 2019), Ryan won a reversal of a summary judgment of foreclosure as the bank failed to prove the amount due and owing.
In Neeley v. State, 210 So. 3d 769 (Fla. 2d DCA 2017), Ryan won a reversal of a criminal conviction and sentence of life without the possibility of parole, based on improper closing arguments by the prosecutor during the trial. Ryan’s client lived the last years of his life as a free man.
In 2023, Ryan and his wife, Francesca, made the decision to make beautiful Pensacola their new home. Ryan has worked as a prosecutor with the State Attorney’s Office in Pensacola and has also served as a Public Defender in Fort Walton Beach.
Ryan also has extensive experience handling personal injury cases. In 2025, Ryan won a jury verdict of $329,875.00 in a slip and fall/premises liability case against a hotel in Destin.
When he’s not fighting for his clients, Ryan enjoys reading, writing, running, surfing, and spending time with his wife, Francesca, and their adventurous tuxedo cat, Cosmo.
